Consulting and Assistance Services

Consulting

When planning a project, whether it's a whole building or a bathroom upgrade, a consultation can help avoid inconvenient and costly mistakes, and make the use of your plumbing system more enjoyable, efficient, reliable, and cost effective.

My consulting service considers:

  • Layout design: Make sure your layout or design tailored for your future use and not just the convenience of the architect and builder.
  • Materials: Brand name and good quality are not always the same. We'll match the many manufacturers and types of materials available to your installation's unique considerations, for years of trouble free enjoyment.
  • Features: Features are not stand alone items. Features need good application, installation, and sometimes location to work as claimed. Knowing what works well and what fails is essential to the future enjoyment of the features.
  • Application: Consideration must be given to any fixture installation, how it will be used, and who it will be used by.

Do it Yourself Assistance

" Can you do it? Yes you can, and I can help"

Ramona's Plumber offers a unique consulting service. My goal is your satisfaction. I enjoy solving your problem, and it doesn't have to cost you a fortune.

I understand that calling a plumber is expensive, and often you can do the work yourself if you have some basic skills, tools, and some good guidance.

If you want to do some or all of the work yourself, then helping you do it yourself safely and effectively is my goal. The better I do that, the happier you are, and the better ratings I get.

Part of the good guidance is to help you assess if this is a task that you want to tackle for yourself. It will also give you the necessary information to help avoid making costly mistakes and damage in the process of a self repair (very common).

I offer different levels of consulting service depending on your skills, needs, and comfort level with a no-regrets upgrade policy.

If I can't direct you to a solution, there is no charge.

Levels of Service

  1. You want to know how much a plumbing task might cost when done by a licensed plumber who has a truck, all the tools and equipment for the job, and provides warranties for the work. FREE
  2. You want to know more about a plumbing task before you call a plumber or decide to do it yourself. FREE
  3. Detailed, web-based instructions. This service level is not yet availble: $9
  4. You want personal professional guidance. $30 per project
Personal e-mail or telephone consultations, addressing your particular task or issue. Including exchange of your digital photos or descriptions

This level of service may be limited by hours of availability:
    Generally my available hours are:
    8am to 8pm Tues - Sat
    Intermittant Sun & Mon

No Regrets Upgrade:

If after starting to tackle the repair or installation yourself, you find you need more advice, or personal assistance, the full value of each level of service is applied to the next.

I will not leave you hanging

There is always a way to either not start a task or to start a task without the reserve parts needed to finish. Sometimes chances are taken, but I will warn of the points of hazard and what is needed to insure a workable outcome. (Having the water on afterwards and usable is an assumed goal). Sometimes parts will be unavailable, but I know what parts might be needed to finish, and I will provide a full list before you start. Sometimes I use my wisdom from previous lessons learned, and will advise you to replace some additional parts as a precaution “while the opportunity exists” and the product is apart (this is not an attempt to sell more parts, it's an attempt to save you overall time, future aggravation, and cost in the long run. I would not recommend some tasks after hours or on holidays/Sundays.

I suspect only poor communication will be the cause of problems, so I urge you to be familiar with glossary terms or ask for clarification. (A glossary page is provided to assist here) I try to use only strict terminology. For example, a valve is a valve, a handle to a valve is a handle. A pressure relief valve is not a pressure regulator . A reduced pressure principal back flow valve is not a pressure reducer, although it does cause a loss in pressure. I will try to use simple speak, I don’t need anyone to understand all terms if they “take my word for it when I call a plumbing product by its real name and they do to.
